IS 18112 'Digital Television Receiver for Satellite Broadcast' deadline extended to 26 January 2027
BIS's Registration Department issued a circular dated 31 July 2026 (ref. Reg/IS 18112/Guidelines/06) recording that MeitY has further extended the date of implementation of IS 18112, Digital Television Receiver for Satellite Broadcast Transmission Specification, to 26 January 2027.
MeitY had brought TV sets conforming to IS 18112 under the Electronics and IT Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021 by an order dated 26 April 2023, originally with effect from 26 April 2025. That date has since been extended more than once. BIS's implementation guidelines of 14 October 2025 (ref. Reg/IS 18112/Guidelines/04) now apply with 26 January 2027 as the implementation date; all other provisions are unchanged.
Who is affected
Television manufacturers, brands and importers holding or seeking CRS registrations for TV sets, and the labs testing them.
What to do
